$27.7M facility expansion coming to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center Hospital
What they’re saying
To treat more patients with arrhythmia, the expansion includes a second electrophysiology unit. “As our community continues to grow, these investments ensure we are prepared to meet the increasing health care needs of Round Rock and the surrounding region,” said JW Newman, chief executive officer of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center. Construction for both facilities is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
A medical-surgical unit and an electro- physiology unit are part of a $27.7 million expansion to the St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, announced May 7 by St. David’s HealthCare system. The recently added fourth floor of St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center will be occupied by the future unit and lab, as the hospital system plans for long-term care. The medical-surgical unit will increase the hospital’s total capacity from 209 beds to 243 beds upon completion, according to a news release from St. David’s. This unit will provide care for patients with acute and post-surgical needs. The hospital also plans to double its capacity to treat heart rhythm disorders.
