Lifescience rm Enovis to expand operations into Cedar Park

Though it’s in the very early stages, Cedar Park is considering becoming the latest Texas city to get a Trader Joe’s grocery store. Enovis Corp., a multibillion dollar life sciences company, is expanding operations into Cedar Park. The two-minute impact The city of Cedar Park announced the expansion in a news release Jan. 28. The $25.5 million facility is expected to create 162 jobs in the area, according to Daniel Sousa, Cedar Park’s assistant director of community aairs. Enovis is hoping to lease Building 3 of the New Hope development, a 95-acre mixed-use property near the intersection of US 183A and New Hope Drive. The 100,000-square-foot building will allow prime commercial space for future growth, Sousa said. Digging deeper Enovis specializes in medical technology, including orthopedics, prosthetics and high-tech medical equipment, and has also been involved in crafting nationwide medical education policy.

including a 13,500 square foot Trader Joe’s to anchor the development and four additional build- ings to be used for oce, storage and warehouse space, totaling about 50,000 square feet. Waeltz & Prete, Inc., a Round Rock-based engineering company developing the project, led a letter of support for the development. “The proposed project will signicantly contrib- ute to the City’s long-term economic well-being by providing commercial development that enhances the tax base and creates job opportunities,” the letter states. “The introduction of a national gro- cery store and additional retail and oce spaces will attract new businesses to the area, fostering

economic growth and diversication.” Currently there are only 21 Trader Joe’s stores in Texas, three of which are in the Austin area.
