City Council approves new playbook for roads Cedar Park o‡cials approved the city’s new Transportation Criteria Manual Feb. 12, a document that outlines guidelines and requirements for future transportation projects. This marks the Œrst set of transportation regu- lations to be developed by the city of Cedar Park. Previously, the city had followed Austin’s Transpor- tation Criteria Manual. The details The manual is the city’s playbook for planning and building roads and transportation projects, according to city documents. Additionally, the document outlined the city’s prioritization of multimodal mobility by detailing requirements for pedestrian refuge islands, Amer- icans with Disabilities-compliant curb ramps and shared-use paths.

Cedar Park prepares for rideshare program Cedar Park’s microtransit pilot program will be named Link Cedar Park with the slogan “Tap. Call. Ride.” How it will work The microtransit pilot program con- sists of both wheelchair-accessible rides through zTrip and subsidized Uber rides for able-bodied people. The program will be open to anybody riding within the Cedar Park city limits and to or from CapMetro’s Lakeline Station. Uber riders will pay $5 per ride, then the city subsidy will cover up to $10 per ride. Riders who use wheelchairs will also pay a $5 base fee per ride. The city will cover up to $46 per trip. The city will test the program in March, ahead of its scheduled launch April 1.

What’s next Sta‘ will amend city ordinances to align with the manual. Those amendments will be presented this summer and the new criteria manual will o‡cially take e‘ect after those ordinances are adopted.
