Visitors to Lakeline Park can look forward to future nature-based educational amenities. In 2022, voters approved $42 million in bond funding for a variety of park projects, including the continued development of Lakeline Park, situated near the Bell District and Twin Lakes Family YMCA. Parks and Recreation Director Mike DeVito said Phase 2 design should wrap up this spring after resident feedback shifted project goals. “We’ve realized how valuable that land is from an ecological standpoint,” DeVito said. While the ‹nal plan is still being developed, DeVito said it will likely add more trails, signage and programming to help visitors learn more about the park’s natural environment. “My vision is that everything we’re doing out there has some educational purpose to it,” DeVito said.

The park rst opened in March 2023. Phase 1 included a playground, 4 miles of paved trails, 10 acres of athletic elds, a large lawn and the lake. Lakeline Park is an important part of a broader eort to foster a sense of community, Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin said. “I just really love that every time I go to the playground, you have all these families meeting up there, friend groups meeting up there, people meeting for the rst time there,” Penniman-Morin said. “I think what we need more than ever in our society is genuine human contact and community.”

The Orr Family RCI Adventure course is nearly complete at the Twin Lakes Family YMCA.

Cedar Park ocials cut the ribbon on Phase 1 of Lakeline Park in March 2023.
