Construction on McKinney City Hall reaches topping out

Construction on the new McKinney City Hall has reached its highest point, signifying the topping out of the project, according to a city news release. The details Construction on the project, located at the north- west corner of Virginia Street and Main Street, began in late 2022. The $105 million project is funded primarily by bond funds approved by voters in 2019. City employees spread out across various oces will be consolidated into the 175,000-square-foot facility following the expected completion in late 2024, according to the release. Diving in deeper The concrete structure of the ve-story building is complete, according to a representative of the company building the facility, Pogue Construction. Construction work underway includes wall framing, sheathing and window installation as well as initial electrical and plumbing work.
