While the cafe still features the classics, Beth Ernest said they added a few items to pay tribute to her family’s hometown of El Paso, including the green chile quiche. The menu consists of quiches, salads, sandwiches, soups, burgers, nine dierent frozen casseroles, muns and pie. Another detail With bright tablecloths draping under glass tables and simplistic decor, the eatery recreates the atmosphere of a cozy lunch at grandma’s house, Beth Ernest said. “People really enjoy coming in here,” she said. “They tell me all the time, ‘I just feel like I’ve rested here. I had a good meal and good conversation.’”

Co-owner Beth Ernest said she and her husband, Don, purchased the restaurant in 2017. Prior to that, she said the cafe has found a home in George- town for over 30 years under dierent ownership. On the menu Beth Ernest said initially they were planning to change the menu, but the cafe’s patrons pleaded against it. “I had so many people come in and say, ‘Please don’t change the menu,’” she said.
