Lone Star College raises tuition ahead of 2024-25 school year Lone Star College System trustees approved increased tuition rates for the 2024-25 school year during the board’s March 7 meeting. After around five months of searching, Willis ISD has named its final superintendent candidate, per an April 1 news release. Two-minute impact During a special meeting April 1, the WISD board of trustees unanimously voted to name Kimberley James as the lone finalist for the superintendent position, according to the news release. James is the deputy superintendent for curriculum and instruc- tion for Corpus Christi ISD, a district that has a student enrollment of 33,107 students. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to serve as superintendent of Willis ISD and to partner with the employees, parents and community as we soar to new heights and uncover new horizons,” James said via news release.

Trustees did not discuss the new tuition rates before voting March 7. “The board of trustees has adopted a goal to equalize the proportion of our revenues from property taxes and tuition,” reads the March 7 meeting agenda.
