Election results from Round Rock, Travis County and Williamson County

Election results show some turnover in Round Rock ISD board races

Three incumbents and two newcomers won seats on the Round Rock ISD board during the Nov. 8 election. Vote totals are shown below. ELECTION RESULTS

Travis County and Williamson County residents re-elected three incumbents and elected two new- comers to the Round Rock ISD board of trustees in the Nov. 8 election. Multiple candidates vied for spots in Places 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6. For Place 1, actor Estevan Jesus “Chuy” Zarate won the seat with 47.93% of ballots as part of a special election that was held to fill the seat vacated by former Trustee Jun Xiao. John Keagy, a chemical engineer, received 27.55% of the vote, and senior adviser at Advance CTE Kevin R. Johnson received 17.85% of votes. Another opponent, Apple software engineer Yuriy Semchyshyn, gar- nered 6.66% of the vote. In Place 3, RRISD board President Amber Feller, a quality management specialist, was re-elected with 52.41% of the vote. Feller defeated oppo- nents Orlando Salinas, a program specialist for the state of Texas, and Maryam Zafar, who dropped out of
