New Nostalgia Studio in Conroe restores, preserves memories Staci Gumpenberger said her passion for preserving memories was fueled by a tragic event at age 7 in which her house, personal belongings, photos and childhood memories were burned. The specics Gumpenberger said the tragedy that took her

tangible childhood memories away gave her the inspiration to start the digital studio New Nostalgia in April 2022 with her daughter Alyssa Barrington to prevent others from losing import- ant memories. New Nostalgia oers restoration, enhancement and editing services for videos, photos and audio. This gives customers the opportunity to convert memories and outdated forms of media into modernized digital formats that can be preserved. “The studio allows older photos to go from your physical hands into your phone and onto a digital platform where you can easily share it with your friends and family,” Barrington said.

Diving in deeper New Nostalgia works with a variety of media forms, including VHS, VHSC, MiniDV, Hi8, Digital 8, Betamax, 8 mm video cassettes and Micro-MV. Once digitized, New Nostalgia returns the origi- nal media and the chosen digital media, including a thumb drive, a DVD and a free digital download. Clients can stop by the studio to drop o their media or use the studio’s website to set up pickup or delivery if they are local. “Once a customer walks in the door, they’re family. Customers don’t have to mail their precious memories o anywhere,” Gumpenberger said.
