9 Preserve at Plum Creek The apartment complex changed ownership and management at the end of August and began the rebranding process with a name change from Provenza at Plum Creek Dec. 2. Community Manager Samantha Lear said they kept the new name similar to the original to avoid confusion and make the transition easy. The rebrand also involves upgrading community amenities and apartments. Built in 2016, the Preserve at Plum Creek is marketed as a luxury apartment complex offering one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes. • 5020 Cromwell Drive, Kyle • www.preserveplumcreek.com
11 Austin Angels The local nonprofit organization that supports children, youth and families in the foster care community is building its national headquarters. The facility, called The Foster Care Community Center, will be a two-story, 8,500-square-foot building and take the place of a former church facility. Austin Angels’ national headquarters will have a variety of different spaces for activities.
12 Color Me Royal The locally owned hair salon relocated from Sola Salon Studios in Southpark Meadows shopping mall to downtown Kyle in the beginning of November. The salon, which is family-owned by Lisa Perez and her husband, Arturo Perez, offers hair color, cuts, keratin treatments, facial waxing and perms. • Relocated Nov. 7 • 213 S. 10 Badassfoods 512 The food truck closed at the beginning of November, according to a Facebook post. Badassfoods 512 was a sister truck to Wrap Godz 512 and was locally owned by Mäc McGuire, Cedric Claiborne and Karen McCauley.
