3 intersections slated for improvements While a timeline for construction has not been confirmed, three Leander intersections will undergo work to increase safety and improve traffic flow. A closer look These projects have been identified: • San Gabriel Parkway and US 183: Addition of a 450-foot dedicated right-turn lane from eastbound San Gabriel Parkway onto southbound US 183 for $378,295 • Collaborative Way and Bagdad Road: Installation of a traffic light, a new left- turn lane and enhancement of the existing right-turn lane for $1.4 million • CR 175 and Journey Parkway: Replacing a four-way stop to add a traffic signal and pedestrian crossings for $460,902

CapMetro proposes expanding service area In the coming months, CapMetro is planning to expand its on-demand pickup service in Leander due to increased ridership and a growing demand for additional transportation services. Zooming in CapMetro officials said the proposal would expand Leander’s existing service zone by 0.64 square miles and will include access to the following destinations: • Cedar Park Regional Emergency Center • Randall’s

Skabowski, executive vice president and chief operating officer at CapMetro, said during the May 16 City Council meeting. This expansion would include 55 additional trips per day and serve nearly 4,000 more resi- dents, according to meeting documents. What to expect If approved by the CapMetro board at its June 24 meeting, CapMetro officials said the expansion will go into effect Aug. 18 and will be active Aug. 19.
