Cedar Park recently revealed the design for a new hotel and convention center coming to the city. The details On March 10, Great Lakes Capitol, an Indi- ana-based investment rm, and Nebraska Furniture Mart announced they have signed an agreement with the city to build a luxury Marriott hotel with an attached convention center at 750 E. New Hope Drive. The new development will be at the heart of CedarView, an ambitious mixed-use develop- ment that will be anchored by NFM’s incoming showroom. Council approves Trader Joe’s zoning Cedar Park City Council took the next step in allowing a Trader Joe’s to potentially open in the city. At a March 13 meeting, council approved zoning changes requested by a developer pro- posing to open the grocery store at a 7.79-acre lot at the southwest corner of East Whitestone Boulevard and Arrow Point Drive. The update Civil engineering rm Waeltz & Prete, Inc. requested the rezoning to make way for a 64,000-square-foot commercial develop- ment, including a 13,500-square-foot Trader Joe’s alongside three oce, showroom or warehouse buildings, per city documents. Council voted to amend the site’s future land use plan from local oce/retail/commer- cial to regional oce/retail/commercial.

The Shoppes at Bell Boulevard will be a mixed- use development at 1804 N. Bell Blvd. The 37,000 square foot plot is zoned for restaurant, retail and oce space, and is located along the Bell District in Cedar Park near the Leander border. The development is expected to be fully built out by mid-2026. concierge services. The development is meant to be the showcase for a new mixed-used development called Cedar- View. In addition to the NFM showroom, which, at 1.1 million square feet, will be one of the largest retail spaces in the state when it’s completed in 2027, the development will also house a 240,000 square foot Scheel’s Sporting Goods store, which is currently set to open in late 2026.

The city plans to break ground on the devel- opment this May, and it is anticipated to open in

early 2027. What else?

The new 300-room hotel will include a 30,000 square foot convention space, and will be one of Cedar Park’s only full-service hotels, meaning it will include on-site dining, recreation and
