Goodwin, Conrads work to begin The City of New Braunfels is preparing to begin a reconstruction project on Goodwin Lane and Conrads Lane to improve traffic flow, safety and pedestrian access. Construction is expected to begin early in 2025, with the city currently preparing to receive bids for the work, Faust said. Part of the city’s 2019 Bond, the cost is yet to be determined, Faust said.

The New Braunfels City Council approved Comal County’s request to disannex approximately 3 acres of land along Altgelt Lane. The backstory This decision, presented by Comal County Engineer Robert Boyd at an Oct. 28 council meet- ing, facilitates a road project that includes to realign the roadway and build a new bridge over Dry Comal Creek, enabling county management of infrastructure outside city limits. According to Boyd, the project will realign a portion of Altgelt Lane and construct a new bridge over Dry Comal Creek to accommodate increasing traffic demands and ensure safer passage for vehicles.

Zooming in The land was annexed into the City of New Braunfels in 1974, said Christopher Looney, director of planning and development services for the city. Comal County recently purchased the property from a private owner to support the upcoming infrastructure improvements. “The disannexation will allow us to move forward with the road and bridge project, which is critical for managing the heavy truck traffic in the area,” Boyd said.
