HPW officials said the project specifically targeted the Washington and Houston avenues intersection, and adding bike lanes would require coordination with Union Pacific Railroad. Building bike lanes from Spring Street to Memorial Drive remains part of the city’s longterm bike plans, officials said, though no timeline has been set.

University Corridor achieves milestone The Federal Transit Administration approved Nov. 23 the environmental review for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County’s University Corridor project. The context The 25-mile line will connect Westchase Park & Ride and the Tidwell Transit Center. FTA’s approval paves the way for the METRO to enter the engineering phase in early 2024. Construction is slated for 2026.
