Houston, Harris County snapshot

Houston

Population continues to grow in both the city of Houston and Harris County, according to new data released Dec. 7 by the U.S. Census Bureau. However, growth has slowed down compared to ve-year trends in 2021. Harris County is growing at a faster rate than Houston, seeing 4.4% population growth between 2017 and 2022, compared to 1.3% growth in Houston. When data was released for 2021, the ve-year growth rates for Harris County and Houston were 5.9% and 2.4%, respectively.
