Leander bids farewell to outgoing mayor The Pat Bryson Municipal Hall was at full capacity as community members, city staff and well-wishers came out to say goodbye to out- going Leander Mayor Christine DeLisle. DeLisle presided over her final City Council meeting on Oct. 16. “It’s been a ridiculous honor to be your mayor and something I could have never imagined,” DeLisle said. “There are days when I just think, ‘How the heck did I get here?’” The details DeLisle announced her intention to resign her term early during the Sept. 18 City Council meeting and gave official notice to the city Oct. 10. Leander to hold runoff election

Natomi Blair and Anna Yelaun will face off in a runoff election after neither candidate was able to secure more than 50% of the voter margin for Leander City Council Place

Blair ended the night with 47.52% of the total vote between Williamson and Travis counties, with Yelaun following with 40.32%. Mohan Marchetty finished the night third with 12.16% of the vote. The city has called for a runoff election between Blair and Yelaun. The runoff will take place December 13, with early voting running from Dec. 1 through Dec. 9. Runoff election times and voting locations are still to be determined, according to the city.

DeLisle said some of her proudest accomplish- ments during her tenure included hiring City Manager Todd Parton, supporting the creation of the Leander Senior Activity Center and fostering a more collaborative and functional City Council.
