Liberty Hill ISD sets goals to boost achievement Liberty Hill ISD has adopted new goals to improve student performance in the 2025-26 school year and beyond. LHISD officials presented an updated district improvement plan, as mandated by state law, at an Oct. 20 board of trustees meeting. The plan details goals to raise student achieve- ment in math and reading as well as college, career and military readiness, or CCMR, along- side providing additional support for historically underperforming student groups, said Heather Stoner, LHISD’s new assistant superintendent of teaching and learning. The approach To accomplish these goals, LHISD will provide professional learning for teachers in math, read- ing and other core subjects alongside training for instructional coaches who will guide strategies

Cascade, the newest neighborhood from Brohn Homes, is offering something rare in today’s market: brand-new homes in Liberty Hill, starting in the mid-$200,000s. The community was designed with one mission in mind—expanding access to homeownership while still providing the features and amenities today’s buyers want. With Liberty Hill continuing to add schools, retail centers and improved connections to Austin and Georgetown, Cascade arrives at the right time for families and individuals eager to put down roots. SMALL-TOWN CHARM MEETS MODERN ACCESS Nestled along a quiet country road, Cascade captures the spirit of rural Hill Country living without sacrificing convenience. Rolling landscapes, wide skies and dark starry nights offer a sense of peace, while nearby hubs such as Costco, H-E-B and major highways ensure homeowners are never far from essentials. “[Homeowners will have] all the benefits of a small town and a rural environment, along with the modern amenities people expect from an award-winning builder,” VP of Operations Greg Barber said. “We work hard to design communities that are for the people, so they can really make the most out of living there.” FLOOR PLANS Cascade offers 14 flexible floor plans that can be personalized to fit any lifestyle, while also providing thoughtfully designed move-in ready options. Local artist Mel Fowler organized Liberty Hill’s International Sculpture Park Symposium in 1976 following trips to Europe and interactions with the larger sculpting community. The event attracted sculptors from around the world, where they created pieces for the city’s rst sculpture exhibit at Veteran’s Park downtown. In 1977, the city won a Texas Arts Award for the symposium. Today, the park is located at Lion’s Foundation Park, near Louine Noble Elementary School, and is maintained by the Liberty Hill Development Foundation. Together with the city, the foundation hosts the festival, to which Liberty Hill has contributed $25,000 annually since 2022. Some of the park’s works have attracted attention from the Smithsonian. The museum reached out about acquiring Ann Merck’s sculpture Western Vision in 1987, according to Liberty Hill historian Gary Spivey. Discussions were revived in 2021 and are still ongoing.

In addition to celebrating the sculpture festival, the Liberty Hill Development Foundation maintains a museum at Lions Foundation Park that displays artifacts and historical documents related to the city’s history. The 1,500-square-foot center, located at 355 Main St., displays Liberty Hill’s 1977 Texas Arts Award as well as recordings by Fowler. “[The museum] is for Liberty Hill’s history,” Spivey said. “Of course, the Sculpture Park is one of the big [pieces] of our history.”

At this year’s festival, Sandsational Sand Sculpting presented a large dragon-themed sand sculpture. The organization has participated in the festival since 2022 and designs a new and unique piece each year, having created Texas-inspired sculptures and fall-themed scenes in past years, founder Jill Harris said. “We love this festival,” Harris said. “All the vendors are fantastic. The music’s good. ... It’s just such a great variety of art and sculpture.” Harris noted the variety of materials utilized by dierent artists at the festival,
