The Depot moves to development phase The Depot, a housing development expected to bring around 80 condos to downtown Round Rock, has moved into the development phase, according to the project developer. After a lengthy planning process, developer Urban Intown Homes submitted permitting for The Depot to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in November. Project leaders have not yet made specic timeline details available, but crews began moving dirt at the property just across East Bagdad Avenue from Round Rock City Hall in mid-December. A representative from Urban Intown Homes conrmed updates would come as the project progresses.

A 30.3-acre lot east of Ed Schmidt Boulevard has been partially annexed into Hutto and zoned for multifamily and commercial use. Hutto City Council approved the annexation and zoning along with a development agreement Dec. 2. The majority of the site will be used
well as amenities for those units. In the future, Live Oak Street will be extended to run through the site and connect with Ed Schmidt.
