The ¦rst 70 teams will be accepted in the competition and will prep March 31 with the competition taking place April 1. Cook-o¥ categories include beef brisket, chicken, pork and pork ribs. Accepted items include paper documents for on-site shredding, up to four vehicle tires with a 20-inch maximum, automobile batteries, furniture, lumber, brush and other related items. 12 DONATE BLOOD In partnership with the American Red Cross, Queen of Hearts CPR will be hosting a blood donation drive. Each pint of blood donated can help up to three people, and the organization’s goal is to get 50 pints of blood donations. ABC Kite Fest, one of Austin’s longest-running traditions, will return to the city April 1 for its 95th year. The event is family friendly and will have activities for all ages. It will feature a kids club with bounce houses and rock climbing, an o-leash pet playground and a concert. There will also be a variety of competitions for attendees to partake in. The ABC Kite Fest was founded by The Exchange Club of Austin. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.
