STEPBYSTEP SUGARING Holly Middour received her esthetician license and primarily focuses on sugaring hair removal services. Here is how the sugaring process works at Southern Sugar and Brow:

A client goes into a private room where their skin is cleaned and prepped with baby powder. Sugar is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth. Sugar is icked in the direction of natural hair growth. A steam towel is applied, any ingrown hairs are removed and aftercare balm is applied.

from home, where you can come in and just relax,” Middour said. “It’s always just a hangout type of vibe, and women do love to come here and just kind of unwind.” Fry previously worked in human resources before gaining experience in permanent cosmetics, microblading and ombre brow services. Middour worked in cancer care prior to receiving her esthetician license and focusing on sugaring. The business prioritizes customer service and building up conƒdence in women, Fry said. She said women’s empowerment is what sets the beauty studio apart from others. “Building up women is just one of the leading motivators in building

this business. Building women’s conƒdence and how they feel about themselves, it’s just important to us,” she said. Since opening, Southern Sugar and Brow has expanded its building and sta‚. This year, Middour and Fry are looking to open another location in Liberty Hill or Cedar Park. Middour said they want Southern Sugar and Brow to be the face of sugaring in Texas while still keeping its hometown feel. “It’s so important to give back to yourself. We’re all going a hundred miles a minute,” Fry said. “You have to love yourself ... to be able to pour into other people.”
