Bee Cave announces new dispatch service provider After two decades of partnership, an agreement has been approved for the city of Bee Cave to transition police dispatch services from the city of Lakeway to the city of Marble Falls, as stated in a news release. Zooming in The city of Bee Cave’s police dispatch costs have doubled in the last several years with an increase from about $285,000 in fiscal year 2017-18 to almost $600,000 in FY 2025-26, according to the news release. The city of Bee Cave reviewed call volume data, operational capacity and long-term cost controls for six months before the Bee Cave City Council approved an agreement with Marble Falls, which will provide equivalent dispatch services at an
Austin to consider vehicle noise rules City officials are looking to crack down on excessive vehicle noise and unsafe driving, particularly along west Austin’s RM 2222 corridor. The details Council members are poised to pass a new city ordinance this spring addressing what offi- cials deem to be unreasonable engine noise. The policy would target vehicle noise above 85 decibels, and would apply only after poten- tial offenders receive an initial warning from law enforcement officials. Violations would be Class C misdemeanors like speeding or vehicle registration infractions. While the RM 2222 corridor remains in focus, Smith said APD is aware of similar issues on stretches of roadway downtown, around the Y at Oak Hill and along Loop 360.
