Extensive construction was also completed at the existing œyover from northbound 1-35 to north- bound US 183 and on the St. Johns Avenue bridge. Construction of the $124.2 million project—which was funded by TxDOT’s Texas Clear Lanes Conges- tion Relief Initiative—began in January 2018. “The new œyovers ensure better connectivity between the highways and signicantly improve mobility for commuters,” TxDOT Austin District Engineer Tucker Ferguson said in a release.

The Texas Department of Transportation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 21 celebrating the completion of three œyovers on I-35. The three œyovers—also called overpasses—will ease traˆc at the I-35 and US 183 interchange. Construction for the project included a southbound I-35 œyover to northbound US 183, a southbound I-35 œyover to southbound US 183 and a northbound US 183 œyover to northbound I-35.
